FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All of my wave images are taken while bodysurfing or swimming in the ocean. The vast majority of my images are captured while I’m riding the wave, bodysurfing inside the barrel. Some are taken while swimming back out to the lineup which delivers a slightly different perspective.
More than just the camera! A wetsuit is a must as the average water temperature in San Francisco is in the low-to-mid 50s (F) year-round. I always have a set of high-quality fins keep me safe in the strong currents outside the Golden Gate, and to propel me into waves which is how I capture the vast majority of my images. I usually use a hand plane while bodysurfing to generate more speed and lift and to provide a platform which I can leverage for my shooting hand. And my cameras: I typically use two GoPro cameras: one dedicated to still photos, which is controlled by a trigger mechanism, and the other to record ultra HD video — both mounted to a modified mounting handle.

Check out the Delicious Salt Bagels store. My goal is to share my art with people who are moved or inspired by these images, and I offer a variety of formats to suit different tastes, spaces, price tolerances and uses. From handmade greeting card prints (which fit a 5x7 frame) to larger prints on semi-gloss paper to museum-quality fine art prints utilizing Acrylic, Metal, and Canvas formats as well as a paper-only option on Fuji Crystal DP II paper.
Yes, every premium greeting card and box set is carefully handmade and assembled in my San Francisco home studio. Because these are crafted by hand, slight variations and natural imperfections can occur, making each card unique and personal—just like the waves I capture.
To preserve your print’s color and longevity, avoid direct sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperature changes. Acrylic and metal prints can be cleaned gently with a soft, dry cloth. Paper prints should be handled with clean hands (I prefer to use gloves), covered with glass to avoid collecting dust and kept away from moisture.
Fine art prints on Acrylic, Metal and Canvas come ready to hang. I do not provide framing or mounting options for paper-only prints (Fuji Crystal DP II paper or semi-gloss paper). For these prints, I recommend finding a local or online framer experienced with fine art prints. For rolled prints shipped in tubes, a professional framer can help flatten and mount your print.
Most of my offerings are made to order, though I do carry limited inventory of my greeting cards. What this means is that orders of my premium greeting cards, which are printed and assembled in my home studio, usually ship within 3-5 business days. I work with one of the best photo labs in the world, WhiteWall, to produce and ship my fine-art prints. One of the reasons I chose WhiteWall, in-addition to their commitment to precision and high-quality, is their average time to ship, which is typically within 7-10 business days, depending on the product and your location.
Because each print is made to order or handmade, I do not accept returns unless there is a defect or damage during shipping. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days with photos, and I’ll arrange a replacement or refund.
